We had a group of 30 folks on a mission from Louisiana come volunteer with us at 4 survivor locations. They completed demolition & debris removal, landscaping, drywall mud & taping, Installing floor joists, installing 3 rooms of tile and still had the energy and focus to sort donations for our families at the warehouse! We appreciate them so much and I know they really made an impact for everyone whose lives they touched. Thank you so much to First Baptist Church – Minden and Experience Mission for once again showing up and being an integral part of our rebuilding efforts!

The Broadway United Methodist Church in Maryville has a knitting group on Mondays called Knit Wits. They have crafted and donated many blankets and baby items to be distributed throughout the areas affected by Hurricane Helene.

This is a one of the blankets donated to Cocke County Long Term Recovery and distributed by our caseworkers.

Shout out to our team of Volunteers from Experience Mission ! This group of young adults has hit the ground running this week already and we are so happy to see them putting in time to help rebuild Cocke County!

Appalachian Service Project is currently working on 3 homes in Newport and 2 homes in Del Rio. This dynamic organization will be working in the area with different groups of volunteers over the next 7 weeks. First United Methodist Church of Newport is partnering to welcome and host each cohort over the summer.

Elizabethtown Mission Team came down from Kentucky with 41 people for the last week of April. They worked on projects on nine different construction sites. They have been doing disaster relief for 20 years and their teams are skilled in everything from electrical to plumbing to block laying to painting and more. Carson Springs Baptist Conference Center was kind enough to host them while they were here.
