Society of St.Vincent De Paul announces Charlie Sawyer as construction manager for Cocke County Long-Term Recovery Group

With more than 20 years of manufacturing experience and skills in residential construction, Charlie Sawyer has joined the Cocke County Long Term Recovery Group as its Construction Manager. Charlie will oversee the home repair and rebuilding efforts for families affected by the Hurricane Helene flood of September 2024. He will assess damage, plan repairs and rebuilds, estimate costs and work with a diverse team to make homes safe, secure and livable again. As a native of Cocke County, Charlie is looking forward to helping Cocke County rebuild and thrive.

Funding for the Construction Manager position was provided by grants and donations from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Disaster Services Corporation, District Council of Knoxville of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Good Shepherd Catholic Church Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul,
Cocke County Long Term Recovery Group, the United Way of East Tennessee Highlands and the East Tennessee Foundation.

Founded in 1833, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is a worldwide organization serving neighbors in need. Our founding activity, still practiced today, is the face-to-face Home Visit, in which Vincentian volunteers visit the homes of those they serve, to identify both immediate and longer-term needs. The National Council of the United States, Society of St. Vincent de Paul was established to organize and represent local SVdP Conferences and Councils, providing resources, training, and spiritual development for nearly 100,000 Vincentian volunteers across the country.
