Shine On, Newport!

The City of Newport, the Newport Main Street Association, and the Cocke County Long Term Recovery Group will host a community commemoration on Friday, September 26, 2025, in downtown Newport, marking the one-year anniversary of the devastating floods caused by Hurricane Helene.
The event will reflect on where Newport and Cocke County were in the aftermath of the flood, celebrate the progress made in the year since, and preview the community’s vision for continued growth.
